Anne’s Altar Society
For over 80
years, the members of St. Anne’s Altar Society
have lovingly cared for the upkeep of the church
sanctuary. They are charged with the important
task of cleaning, maintaining and changing the
altar covers that help to beautify our church
interior. Members are also called upon to
arrange the flowers that adorn our house of
worship during the Feast of the Nativity of our
Lord and during Pascha. For more information
about St. Anne’s Altar Society, you may contact
President Sue Shevchenko (732) 442-1976.

John’s Church Choir
St. John’s has
long had a rich choral tradition. The Church
Choir sings the responses to the Divine Liturgy
every Sunday. The Choir also participates in the
Nativity Eve Vigil Service, as well as the
services for Great and Holy Friday and for
Pascha. In recent years, the Choir has presented
a Christmas Concert in church that is open to
the public. While most of the services at St.
John’s are sung in English, the Choir is also
capable of rendering responses in Church
Slavonic. The present 20-voice Church Choir
rehearses on Tuesday evenings. Anyone interested
in learning more about the Church Choir should
contact the Director, George Hanas (908)
233-4757.

John’s PTO
St. John’s PTO
has long been a valuable supporter of the parish
Sunday Church School program. The parent-teacher
organization underwrites the cost of all
religious education materials needed by the
students. This includes taking care of all costs
incurred with the running of a one-week Vacation
Church School every July. The PTO also plans
social and recreational activities for the
parish children throughout the course of the
year, including: bowling, skating, movies,
Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Party, Pumpkin Patch
Outing and a “fun trip” at the end of the school
year. The organization meets on a Sunday each
month during the school year as scheduling
permits. Kindly contact President Mary Ann
Delcher for more information on the PTO at (201)
512-0739.

John’s Social Club
St. John’s Social
Club has been in existence for 60 years. Founded
shortly after World War II, the Club has been a
source of fellowship and social activity for St.
John’s parishioners and friends. In its early
years, the Club had a great deal of interaction
with similar organizations in other Diocesan
parishes, thus fostering long-lasting
friendships and relationships. The Social Club
sponsors monthly dinners in their Club Room to
coincide with holiday themes. Meetings are held
on the first Monday of every month. President of
St. John’s Social Club is Daniel Nimetz (732)
541-9414.
